FIELD NOTE / SG-21 / LINK STATE
Triage a Sugargoo spreadsheet link before you paste it
Open the link, record its final destination, and compare the current product identity with the discovery record. “HTTP 200” or a page that loads is not enough.
Four useful link states
- Matching
- The final page still describes the same product family and exposes the option you need.
- Changed
- The URL opens, but title, seller, product, options or context no longer match the record.
- Unavailable
- The page cannot be reached or the product is no longer offered in the current view.
- Unrelated
- The destination is a homepage, login wall, generic store, ad page or different product without enough identity continuity.
Record the redirect, not only the starting URL
Copy the final destination after any redirect. Short links and platform handoffs may change hosts or paths. A redirect can be legitimate, but you still need to compare the final title, seller and options. If automation is blocked, do not label the link dead solely from the blocked request; open it in a normal browser and record what is visible.
Compare identity before price
Start with product type, seller or shop reference, distinctive model details, option names and images. Price alone is weak identity evidence because variants can have different prices and a seller can reuse a listing. If a page contains many options, record the exact one that matches your intended order.
Do not bypass platform warnings
A Sugargoo warning, purchase restriction or unavailable-order message is controlled by the live platform. This site does not recommend DIY-order workarounds or other methods to evade a restriction. Read the specific message, check whether the source listing itself changed, and follow current platform and destination-country rules.
Minimum link note
- Discovery record URL and access date.
- Final destination URL after redirects.
- Current product title and seller reference.
- Exact size, color, model or bundle you intend to choose.
- State: matching, changed, unavailable or unrelated.
- Next action: continue, compare another source, or stop.
After a matching result, continue to the variant handoff note. If the product type needs special checks, use the field-route index.
Use time as part of the result
A link state is an observation at a stated time, not a permanent label. Record the access date and avoid writing evergreen words such as always or never. When another person checks later, they should be able to see which destination, title and option you actually reviewed and why you chose the state.
Frequently asked questions
Does a link that opens prove the item is available?
No. It only proves that a destination opened during the check; the current option and purchase state still require review.
